There is nothing like going someplace new and having no idea what to expect when you get there. We wanted to help you prepare for your visit to our church by providing some additional information about each of our services. If you need further information, please don't hesitate to contact us. You can find all of our contact information here. Let's start with a video about 3 of our worship services:
Come as you are and enjoy a brief service of Holy Communion in our Chapel the third Wednesday of every month. This service will be focused on prayer and on the sacrament of Holy Communion. While a brief devotional may be given at times just prior to communion, the service is without music and many of the other elements found in our other worship services. The service itself will last 15-20 minutes, but you are welcome to remain in the Chapel in prayer as long as you like. Upcoming dates include September 15th, October 20th, November 17th, and December 15th.
Weekly Worship Services:
(Saturdays, 5:30 p.m., in the Sanctuary at the Main Campus)
We invite everyone to come as you are (seriously, shorts, jeans, flip flops, slacks, button ups, whatever is most comfortable for you) and join us for Encounters. Like our other services, we enjoy times of fellowship and refreshments before and after our worship time together. You don't want to miss our opening video at each of our services! The Encounters' Band leads us in an edgier version of contemporary worship in our sanctuary. David Crowder, Kutless, Skillet, Third Day, and Hillsong are just a few of the musicians/song writers that we cover. While singing, praying, relevant Biblical preaching, sharing of our financial gifts and fellowship are a part of each of our services, there are many other elements that are unique to Encounters. We regularly have someone (not staff) share a portion of their faith journey with us. Video and other visual media is well incorporated into each of our services. And in the near future we will be incorporating dance and drama into our services as well. For more information about Encounters worship and ministry, visit us at www.encountersumt.org. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Saturday of every month.
Come as you are and join us for coffee, snacks and fellowship before the service starts. At 9:00 we all enter into the sanctuary and the Praise Team leads us in worship. You will notice the familiar lyrics of Hillsong and Chris Tomlin (just to name a couple) as we worship God in a more casual and contemporary style. We love having our children join us in worship and a couple of times a month our children's director will present a children's sermon during our time together. Our Praise and Worship Service is complete with prayer, relevant Biblical preaching, singing, sharing our tithes and offerings, and the opportunity to step into our faith journeys in deeper and more meaningful ways. After worship, join us again in the coffee bar for refreshments and fellowship before heading out to one of our many Sunday School opportunities at 10:00 a.m. Holy communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month.
(Sundays, 10:05 a.m. in Scott Hall at the Main Campus)
Beginning September 12th there will be a new worship service at the main campus of the United Methodist Temple. Come as you are and join us in Scott Hall for 45 minutes of acoustic contemporary worship music and relevant Biblical preaching in a casual coffee shop type atmosphere. If you have ever wished you could have your coffee and worship too, then this is the service for you!
This is the service where you will commonly see more dresses, suits, slacks, and button downs; but don't let that stop you from coming just as you are. This worship service offers the congregation a worship experience that is rich with liturgy and church tradition. Hymns are the foundation of our singing worship together and are led each week by the Chancel Choir (under the direction of Debbie Prihoda) and accompanied instrumentally on the beautiful pipe organ by our organist Darla Lindsay. Participation is encouraged beyond our singing worship as we actively engage in worship through a Call to Worship (often done as a responsive reading), a recitation of the Apostle's Creed, and The Lord's Prayer. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
All of our weekend services have free nursery care available for children through age 5.
